After 5 minutes, Luz Tejedor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peru and the Miguir players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute, Luz Tejedor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Gerry Grasmück made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. Miguir's Grueso Armental played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Veremundo Buyeres in the 15th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Peru booed when Miguir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Esiquio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Veremundo Buyeres in the 20th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roch Palzewicz in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56thth minute of the game Eliseo Mina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Miguir's Grueso Armental was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Veremundo Buyeres in the 61st minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veremundo Buyeres, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gallo in the 88th minute of play forced Miguir's goalkeeper Grueso Armental to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eliseo Mina in the 89th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Miguir's goalie and right to Joaquin Prats. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Miguir's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 95 minutes into the game, Milagros Fraga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Grueso Armental was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Miguir supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Peru's performance. The match ended with a win for Peru.
