Agesilaus Michalaras was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 17 minute of play. Stoil Durev kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Agesilaus Michalaras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Stepan Bandera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Stepan Bandera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agesilaus Michalaras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 45th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and 邱悦弘 made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in LIGHTNING's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agesilaus Michalaras came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Ilixo Abeita sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. In the 68th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. When Emenon Canosa fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LIGHTNING's protests and gave Emenon Canosa a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes LIGHTNING got a freekick which was hit by Emenon Canosa. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agesilaus Michalaras didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Agesilaus Michalaras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Filip Filev hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the LIGHTNING defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agesilaus Michalaras. The LIGHTNING fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agesilaus Michalaras should have stopped the shot. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind LIGHTNING's goalkeeper Agesilaus Michalaras, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mathias Vestberg charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathias Vestberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felix Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Agesilaus Michalaras having to make a save. 95 minutes into the match, LIGHTNING's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Agesilaus Michalaras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ecuador fully deserved thier win.
