Marc-André Wedekind hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Artemio Quiroga came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
