Albino Berriotxoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Manchester Quijano's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The corner ended in Luca Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Manchester Quijano's Albino Berriotxoa did a great save. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Albino Berriotxoa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Manchester Quijano booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Rouco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 54 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. 55 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jovica Zeković. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 67 played minutes Manchester Quijano got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Xabat. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester Quijano's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albino Berriotxoa came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Dante Lacasa managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Manchester Quijano's Jovica Zeković fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 75 minutes into the game, one of Manchester Quijano:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The throw-in from Atilano Xabat in the 78th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Albino Berriotxoa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Loren Eaton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester Quijano's supporters rose to their feet, but Loren Eaton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the game, Loren Eaton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manchester Quijano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. Loren Eaton hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Jovica Zekovićs short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Dante Lacasa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 93rd minute, Manchester Quijano's Genaro Luken fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Dante Lacasa was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. In the 97th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it.
