Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Suane in the 8th minute of play. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. João Vítor de Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 14th minute of play. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play forced Diablos FC's goalkeeper João Vítor de Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 played minutes Diablos FC got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Alcântara. With an all-out effort, Diablos FC's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Moises Suane, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 43 minutes, Kaviedes Arrese managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diablos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaviedes Arrese was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Diablos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaviedes Arrese didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Kaviedes Arrese made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Vítor de Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Suane in the 71st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diablos FC's Franklin Hostos was substituted for Moises Suane. 76 minutes into the match, Diablos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but João Vítor de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 played minutes, Diablos FC's Sydney Alcântara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Diablos FC reached it. Franklin Hostos took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 89 played minutes, Diablos FC's Reimundo Casado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Diablos FC reached it. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Diablos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Riego didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, Diablos FC could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
