A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Julio Vera acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 3rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Anıl Akdoruk. In the 9th minute Måns Kjellman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the FC ANC defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Tudor. The FC ANC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Tudor should have stopped the shot. Anıl Akdoruk kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC ANC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Tudor came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Petricca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Tudor having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artemio Quiroga in the 31st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after FC ANC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play forced FC ANC's goalkeeper Martin Tudor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The FC ANC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Måns Kjellman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Tudor having to interfere. FC ANC's Martin Tudor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Martin Tudor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Måns Kjellman came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC ANC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Norbert Kiss hit a great ball. FC ANC's Martin Tudor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save FC ANC from getting a goal against them. 83 minutes into the match, FC ANC's Måns Kjellman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Martin Tudor to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 85th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. FC ANC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 89th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC ANC's Martin Tudor did a great save. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
