The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, La Acade's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Mcdonald came free, but Blas Aritza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Osvaldo Cantero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. In the 8th minute La Acade were awarded a corner. Teófilo Amaro went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kip William in the 10th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in La Acade's zone, Monty Rogers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blas Aritza came out of the goal and Monty Rogers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 17 minutes USA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Teófilo Amaro who took care of the corner kick. La Acade's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Teófilo Amaro in the 21st minute. After 22 played minutes La Acade got a freekick which was hit by David Abaurre. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osvaldo Cantero in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Osvaldo Cantero sped through USA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marco Day. Leonard Lamczyk hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blas Aritza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Monty Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot. USA's supporters rose to their feet, but Monty Rogers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blas Aritza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 47 minutes into the game, Leonard Lamczyk cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Marco Day was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Cantero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 56 in the game by Cassius Byrne from a close distance when the talented Blas Aritza managed to make a qualified save. La Acade's players were relieved. Osvaldo Cantero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute of the match, Monty Rogers tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Blas Aritza saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cassius Byrne who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Blas Aritza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Cantero, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Osvaldo Cantero scored 4-0 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Day, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. Blas Aritza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sam Campbell in the 73rd minute. In the 74thth minute of the game Monty Rogers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Acade's Blas Aritza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 76 minutes into the match, La Acade's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Blas Aritza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 76th minute of play forced La Acade's goalkeeper Blas Aritza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sam Campbell's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Blas Aritza skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. La Acade's Felipe Saturnin was substituted for Kip William. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. After having played for 89 minutes, Osvaldo Cantero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Acade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Cantero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, La Acade's goalkeeper Blas Aritza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sam Campbell. USA's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because La Acade had won, even though USA had held more of the ball.
