Estadio Arena Abril.
Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cléber Catarinense started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 3rd minute of play forced Sport Club Abrilense's goalkeeper Leopoldo Dominix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cléber Catarinense who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leopoldo Dominix having to make a save. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute. Leopoldo Dominix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 28th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Dominix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Cléber Catarinense sent off a good shot on target. Leopoldo Dominix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of the match. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A hard and well directed shot from Luis Andino led 38 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Sport Club Abrilense's Leopoldo Dominix became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. In the 42nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Sport Club Abrilense's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sport Club Abrilense's Leopoldo Dominix did a great save. 47 minutes into the game, Leandro Luix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Club Abrilense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Leopoldo Dominix firmly grabbed it by the left post. With his leg Leopoldo Dominix managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Bruggink in the 56th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59th play minutes Daniel Zorita shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Leopoldo Dominix and just under the crossbar into goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Leopoldo Dominix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Sport Club Abrilense's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Leopoldo Dominix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leopoldo Dominix. That made the score 0-4 in the 72 minute of play. Sport Club Abrilense made a substitution. German Estevez replaced Severino Bruggink. 77 minutes into the game, Cléber Catarinense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Club Abrilense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After 77 played minutes Sport Club Abrilense got a freekick which was hit by Cléber Catarinense. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Club Abrilense's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Dominix came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sport Club Abrilense's Silvio Checa was substituted for Tobias Felo. The supporters of Sport Club Abrilense booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sport Club Abrilense's Dan Rüdy got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd match minute, Sport Club Abrilense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Luix to maneuver through the defense. Leandro Luix hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
