Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Vasile Blănaru made the kick off and thus started the match. Progresul Pitesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Progresul Pitesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chorache Tofiño didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Karol Czempa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Karol Czempa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Martin Tudor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montes in the 15th minute of the match. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Martin Tudor despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Martin Tudor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vasile Blănaru got free with Julio Vera in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Martin Tudor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Karol Czempa came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 27th minute of play forced Progresul Pitesti's goalkeeper Martin Tudor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Tudor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Tudor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Progresul Pitesti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 34thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Progresul Pitesti's Martin Tudor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martin Tudor. Martin Tudor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 45 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Tudor was left in no man's land by his defense there!

51 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Karol Czempa came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Florin Logofătu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Martin Tudor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Martin Tudor despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 65th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. If Vasile Blănaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Martin Tudor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Progresul Pitesti's Martin Tudor got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chorache Tofiño, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute, Karol Czempa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
