In the 21stth minute of the game Elbert Gudov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elbert Gudov, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Elbert Gudov notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 32nd match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Seco to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elbert Gudov's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. If Evlogi Cheshmedzhiev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Helmut Kunze made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. After 44th play minutes Luan Velloso shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Joaquin Gayoso and just under the crossbar into goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elbert Gudov made a kick off. In the 51st minute of the match Kristian Harrit sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Gayoso skillfully saved the ball. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Uruguay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kristian Harrit was slow to take the kick. During this time MANCHESTER UNITED's players had a chance to rest. MANCHESTER UNITED's Kristian Harrit was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joaquin Gayoso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Seco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Helmut Kunze having to make a save. In the 70thth minute of the game Elbert Gudov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Evlogi Cheshmedzhiev came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Helmut Kunze was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 82 minutes into the match, Evlogi Cheshmedzhiev dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joaquin Gayoso, 2-3. In the 84th match minute, MANCHESTER UNITED was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beloslav Demirev to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of MANCHESTER UNITED booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Carballal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luan Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmut Kunze saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind MANCHESTER UNITED's goalkeeper Helmut Kunze, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
