Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arsenio Maria in the 19th minute of the match. Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Villa Mitre City from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc got control of the ball when Luis Andino tried to sneak it across the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper Ariel Ponc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. 32 minutes in the game, Daniel Zorita fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ariel Ponc having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Ponc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saturnino Lehior in the 48th minute of the match.

Villa Mitre City's Mauricio Macías was substituted for Arsenio Maria. Villa Mitre City made a substitution. Imam Sarwono replaced Saturnino Lehior. The wind increased when Feliciano Fernendo made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ariel Ponc was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ariel Ponc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 71 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. 73 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Ariel Ponc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ariel Ponc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 77th minute of play. Ariel Ponc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 79th minute of the match. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Mauricio Macías made a great header on Villa Mitre City's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Benigno Ibañez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
