In the 19th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Engenheiros da Vila's Sérgio Jacinto. But to his dismay, Sérgio Jacinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The supporters of Engenheiros da Vila booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 33 minutes, Sérgio Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Engenheiros da Vila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sérgio Jacinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Engenheiros da Vila's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Patricio Costa scored to the left of an out of position Eriberto Queirós, making the score, 1-2. Eriberto Queirós was a little too slow when Tomas Illescas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 2-2. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Gernando Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

In the 52nd minute, Eusébio Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eriberto Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 53rd minute of the match. Sérgio Jacinto came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jonathan Ferrant could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Jacinto in the 57th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Flávio Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Engenheiros da Vila fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flávio Mineiro couldn't finish the play. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Jacinto in the 71st minute of play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 75 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sérgio Jacinto. Gernando Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the game, Eusébio Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Engenheiros da Vila's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Wesley Salgado made in the 81st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. 83 minutes into the match, Engenheiros da Vila's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Eriberto Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. Wesley Salgado made in the 90th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Gernando Sarmento immediately put the ball in play. In the 96th minute, Flávio Mineiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
