Fabricio Stephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabricio Stephen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sergio Arano hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play forced Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper Fabricio Stephen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabricio Stephen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Águilas Poblanas's Fabricio Stephen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Sebastián Puig in the 86th minute of play. Águilas Poblanas's Fabricio Stephen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Águilas Poblanas from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Fabricio Stephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabricio Stephen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 97th minute of the match.
