The throw-in from Célio Azevedo in the 19th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Valentín Carvallo. If Jeremias Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Célio Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Célio Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kléber Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 24th minute of play. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeremias Correia's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 0-1 became the score in the 29th minute when Sebastian Villa elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kléber Lira was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Honduras's attentive Valentín Carvallo managed to snatch the ball when Célio Azevedo made a throw-in in the 37th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kléber Lira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Olympique Deleon's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Augusto Varela made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Luís Fábio Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olympique Deleon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fábio Travassos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute, Jeremias Correia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 56 minutes, Edmundo Espiga made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Olympique Deleon's Kléber Lira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Célio Azevedo made in the 59th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Luís Fábio Travassos immediately put the ball in play. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Kléber Lira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 68 minutes into the match, Olympique Deleon's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Sancho came free, but Kléber Lira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luca Espinar hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Olympique Deleon's Abelardo Galvão was substituted for Luís Fábio Travassos. Olympique Deleon's Yuri Jacinto was substituted for Augusto Varela. The supporters of Olympique Deleon booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Espinar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kléber Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Yuri Jacinto scored 1-2 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kléber Lira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 87th minute. Honduras's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
