With his leg Matías Patrone managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Peru's Julian Murillo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 37 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Atilano Quinten came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Atilano Quinten in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 44 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Atilano Quinten came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Milagros Fraga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Matías Patrone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Los Delfines made a substitution. Saverio Regis replaced Atilano Quinten. In the 60th minute Oliver Bierhoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Los Delfines's Oliver Bierhoff shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Oliver Bierhoff took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by José Luis Brown, made in the 86th minute of the game. 87 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matías Patrone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 89 minutes into the game, José Luis Brown threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Alonso Berganza quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Honorio Eder kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After 95 minutes of play, Peru's Rafael Gallo made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Matías Patrone was left in no man's land by his defense there! Peru's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
