Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Evelio Harri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Dragones FC's Cirilo Elequemedo got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Evelio Harri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Panama's goalie and right to Edgardo Esiquio. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Panama's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Berganza made a kick off. After 51 minutes, Geancarlos Vizcarra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dragones FC and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Dragones FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cirilo Elequemedo in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Cotilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cirilo Elequemedo in the 77th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aldo Beremundo in the 78th minute of the match. Many of Panama's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Panama may have spent more time on the ball, but Dragones FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
