Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Laffitte Sanes started the match with the kick off. Laffitte Sanes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Laffitte Sanes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the match, AC Guadalajara's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Juan Cazorla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Normando Palencia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 21st minute, but Julio Vera got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Ecuador hanging dry this time. AC Guadalajara's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fidel Gomez in the 22nd minute. AC Guadalajara's Fidel Gomez was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidel Gomez in the 27th minute of play. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Laffitte Sanes sent off a good shot on target. Jaakoppi Fahlgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in AC Guadalajara's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Cazorla came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. AC Guadalajara's Juan Cazorla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. AC Guadalajara's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. 38 minutes into the match, AC Guadalajara's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Juan Cazorla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of AC Guadalajara booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, AC Guadalajara's Evarado Taules got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Laffitte Sanes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, AC Guadalajara's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Juan Cazorla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in AC Guadalajara's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Cazorla came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laffitte Sanes in the 70th minute of play. The corner ended in Felix Montenegro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AC Guadalajara's Juan Cazorla did a great save. Juan Cazorla made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Juan Cazorla in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 85th match minute, AC Guadalajara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesús Abellan to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute, Evarado Taules hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AC Guadalajara's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
