In the 9th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanasis Papadimitriou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the game, Gottfrid Kjellbom cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gottfrid Kjellbom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th match minute, GÉMINIS DARIÉN F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mykyta Sakhnevych to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Jaen in the 30th minute of the match. Thanasis Papadimitriou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gottfrid Kjellbom. In the 39th minute, Facundo Cadaval ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thanasis Papadimitriou was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Facundo Cadaval fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Facundo Cadaval a yellow card for diving instead. Facundo Cadaval hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Gottfrid Kjellbom could shoot a difficult shot in the 42nd minute, which Dante Lacasa however easily saved by the left post. After some careless play in the GÉMINIS DARIÉN F.C. defense, Luca Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thanasis Papadimitriou. The GÉMINIS DARIÉN F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thanasis Papadimitriou should have stopped the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off.
