Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Ariel Ponc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 3rd minute of play. In the 6th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Villa Mitre City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Juan Sebastián Puig managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. With a little luck, Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. Generoso Laurgain hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. Ariel Ponc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 17th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feliciano Fernendo in the 18th minute of play. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ariel Ponc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's Urbano Mendiko broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Ariel Ponc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40thth minute of the game Feliciano Fernendo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 44th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Feliciano Fernendo made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliciano Fernendo in the 56th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Villa Mitre City's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mauricio Macías in the 60th minute. Villa Mitre City's Mauricio Macías was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ariel Ponc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 69th minute of the match. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Villa Mitre City's Mauricio Macías fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 77th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 minutes, Feliciano Fernendo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Villa Mitre City and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Mauricio Macías sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Mauricio Macías sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ariel Ponc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. Chants of Villa Mitre City echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ecuador had held the ball for most of the match.
