PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Millrick Portanares was substituted for Torcato Brito. The audience thought a goal was coming when Monty Rogers got free with Cafu Negri in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Cosca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. 76 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Cafu Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Cafu Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 83rd minute of play. In the 89th minute of the match USA got a corner. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jenson Smith ran over to the corner to take the kick. With his leg Cafu Negri managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when USA's Sam Campbell fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
