The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. 15 minutes into the match, Grigore Jula dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 2-0. When 孟诚寒 in the 19th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Julio Vera kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 3-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Palacio in the 44th minute of play forced Rova Rosiori's goalkeeper Paul Dumitru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by 孟诚寒 in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
