After having played for 3 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Epifanio Hartz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudio Librado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Claudio Librado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guns And Roses's goalkeeper Claudio Librado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A well done corner resulted in Felix Montenegro drilling the ball in to score 0-2 behind Guns And Roses's goalkeeper. Epifanio Hartz charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Epifanio Hartz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 41 played minutes Guns And Roses got a freekick which was hit by Epifanio Hartz. Claudio Librado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Claudio Librado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 46th minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudio Librado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Guns And Roses's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Librado came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Cristian Sancho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Claudio Librado, passed just outside the right post. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guns And Roses's Claudio Librado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 62nd minute of play. Claudio Librado made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. After 67 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudio Librado was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Joel Espiridion stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Joel Espiridion tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Claudio Librado made a huge save. In the 83rd minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Claudio Librado. Claudio Librado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5.
