Bebeto Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Planet Caravan's Dedê Vinhas got a free kick in the 4th minute. Romeu Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bebeto Queirós. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bebeto Queirós in the 13th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romeu Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hudson dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Planet Caravan's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Romeu Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Romeu Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Planet Caravan's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Romeu Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes, Vitinho Silva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Planet Caravan and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. 34 minutes into the game, one of Planet Caravan:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Romeu Marques came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Felix Montenegro. But to his dismay, Felix Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Bebeto Queirós made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Vitinho Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeu Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Romeu Marques made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Luis Andino sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romeu Marques. Romeu Marques dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Planet Caravan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitinho Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Planet Caravan's Romeu Marques. Romeu Marques was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Planet Caravan's Romeu Marques got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77thth minute of the game Bebeto Queirós who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Romeu Marques made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Romeu Marques. That made the score 0-4 in the 81 minute of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Romeu Marques made a huge save. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeu Marques having to make a save. After 90 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bebeto Queirós's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
