Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trabzonspor the free kick. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 4th minute. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Batuğ Necmi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Trabzonspor's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Puig came free, but Murat Sarpkan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Murat Sarpkan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 21 played minutes Trabzonspor got a freekick which was hit by Baybars Develi. Murat Sarpkan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Noboa went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murat Sarpkan having to interfere. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After taking down the ball on Costa Rica's corner Alan Moruga fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Murat Sarpkan quite easily take care of the ball. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murat Sarpkan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costa Rica were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Trabzonspor's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Tasis took the corner. The corner led Costa Rica's Juan Rubio to fire away a dangerous shot which Murat Sarpkan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

In the 52nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. After 56 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. Alexander Carballo lost his temper 60 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 63rd minute there was a penalty for Trabzonspor. Emran Canaydin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benito Sanz. 1-3. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murat Sarpkan having to interfere. After 71 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. After 72 minutes, Lautaro Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Trabzonspor players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Trabzonspor's Seyhun Reşat in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 78th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Trabzonspor's Batuğ Necmi. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Trabzonspor's Halil Can Ergök managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Efrain Moruga in the 88 minute of the game. In the 94th minute Ahmet Erdem Başeski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Seyhun Reşat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trabzonspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Seyhun Reşat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Trabzonspor supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Costa Rica's performance. The match ended with a win for Costa Rica.
