The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristobal Goito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milagros Fraga in the 4th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto-Federico Acosta got free with Rolando Noboa in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristobal Goito came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Eduardo Domeka came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Carabata Groove fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Domeka couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto-Federico Acosta got free with Rolando Noboa in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Alberto-Federico Acosta scored to the left of an out of position Rolando Noboa, making the score, 1-2. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto-Federico Acosta in the 26th minute. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Anthony Alvarado hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Alberto-Federico Acosta got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Gustaw Ludzia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 42 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the game, one of Carabata Groove:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The Carabata Groove players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 1-3.

Carabata Groove made a substitution. Hermengildo Bazkoare replaced Alberto-Federico Acosta. The wind increased when Hauk Hareide made the kick off in the second half. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute, Frasco Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Luz Tejedor kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cristobal Goito. That made the score 1-4 in the 69 minute of play. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Cristobal Goito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Eliseo Mina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Cristobal Goito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristobal Goito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Murillo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Cristobal Goito skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Toninho Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. In the 85th minute, Toninho Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hauk Hareide in the 87th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Peru's Eliseo Mina slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristobal Goito. That made the score 1-5 after 91 minutes of play.
