Evaristo Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 16 minutes of play, RochA Bombeir0 FSCMZ's Torcuato Lopez made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zane Woodhall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torcuato Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Zane Woodhall tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute Thomás Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Evaristo Britto however easily saved by the left post. RochA Bombeir0 FSCMZ's Torcuato Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Torcuato Lopez came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, RochA Bombeir0 FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Evaristo Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after RochA Bombeir0 FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Evaristo Britto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
