The referee ignored FC Ruscova's protests and gave Gustav Kvick a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Ruscova getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Gustav Kvick hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Cortez got free with Rolando Noboa in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kian Natanael in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. Aurel Trifan hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmuth Duckadam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Ciro Cortez tried to sneak it across the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Kian Natanael came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, FC Ruscova's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 48 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aurel Trifan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kian Natanael stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Cortez in the 52nd minute of play. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kian Natanael in the 53rd minute of play. FC Ruscova's Helmuth Duckadam proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save FC Ruscova from getting a goal against them. Helmuth Duckadam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kian Natanael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 93rd minute of the game Aurel Trifan made a throw-in which Gustav Kvick played forward. FC Ruscova succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Peru had controlled the match.
