When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane managed to reach the ball for a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Salvador Gisbert in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dani Cochrane prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 19 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane. Dani Cochrane was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Dani Cochrane, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dani Cochrane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. A collision led to Australian Youth Academy getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Dakota Gaffigan hit a great ball. Ollie Flesfadar kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 31st minute of the game was made by Guillermo Mariano with Tomas Illescas as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Dani Cochrane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dani Cochrane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dani Cochrane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 45th minute of play. Australian Youth Academy's Ollie Flesfadar managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Salvador Gisbert in the 46 minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brayden Carberry to make the kick off. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. If Brayden Carberry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 played minutes Australian Youth Academy got a freekick which was hit by Ollie Flesfadar. Dani Cochrane was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Patricio Costa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 59 minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Dani Cochrane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Dani Cochrane, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dani Cochrane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dani Cochrane. Australian Youth Academy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Dani Cochrane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 80th minute of play forced Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Dani Cochrane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Dani Cochrane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Dani Cochrane made a huge save. Dani Cochrane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 92nd minute of play. The Australian Youth Academy fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Venezuela were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
