Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carlos Alberto Azevedo started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Facundo Cadaval notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio. Teodoro Peio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Peio having to interfere. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Peio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 13th minute of the match. Teodoro Peio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th play minute Primitivo Mendez came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dante Lacasa. 1-1. In the 18th match minute, Atlético Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nemesio Damario to maneuver through the defense. Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 19th minute of play. Carlos Alberto Azevedo took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 28 minutes into the game, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teodoro Peio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. The supporters of Mexico booed when Atlético Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomero Rodas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Peio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Teodoro Peio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Atlético Nacional players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 2-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. If Alonzo Rocendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Azevedo in the 54th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Vicente Sasoin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Nacional's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Baldomero Rodas in the 65th minute. The corner led Atlético Nacional's Baldomero Rodas to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Teodoro Peio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 68th minute of play. Teodoro Peio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 69th minute. Teodoro Peio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Azevedo in the 76th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alonzo Rocendo in the 80th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodoro Peio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 86th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Primitivo Mendez in the 89th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Nacional from getting a goal against them. In the 94th minute, Vicente Sasoin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Mexico were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
