Compostela FSCMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of play forced Compostela FSCMZ's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fernando Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Luiz Fernando Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian Urbano during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Compostela FSCMZ's Cristian Urbano got a free kick in the 17th minute. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fernando Baiano having to interfere. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Luiz Fernando Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Luiz Fernando Baiano came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. Luiz Fernando Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 48th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Luiz Fernando Baiano in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Compostela FSCMZ's Christian Oliveira got a free kick in the 52nd minute. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Felix Montenegro took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Luiz Fernando Baiano to make any attempt to save it. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Compostela FSCMZ's Luiz Fernando Baiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Compostela FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. After 75 minutes, Christian Oliveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Compostela FSCMZ and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ecuador made a substitution. Diego Mancebo replaced Luis Andino. In the 76th match minute, Compostela FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Fernando Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 78th minute of play. Pedro Tasso hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After having played for 83 minutes, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustín Saelices was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 84 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Luiz Fernando Baiano managed to make a qualified save. Compostela FSCMZ's players were relieved. After some careless play in the Compostela FSCMZ defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luiz Fernando Baiano. The Compostela FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Fernando Baiano should have stopped the shot. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Compostela FSCMZ.
