Waldir Gaúcho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amaury Hulsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arnaldo Martins who took care of the corner kick. Waldir Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Valhalla Time's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Waldir Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waldir Gaúcho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Valhalla Time's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Waldir Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amaury Hulsen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aca Larroque in the 51st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Waldir Gaúcho in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute, Francisco Shantala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Valhalla Time defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldir Gaúcho. The Valhalla Time fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldir Gaúcho should have stopped the shot. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Valhalla Time were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnaldo Martins took the corner. Valhalla Time's Waldir Gaúcho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Valhalla Time from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Waldir Gaúcho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 77th minute, but Waldir Gaúcho got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Valhalla Time hanging dry this time. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita's late challenge caught a Valhalla Time's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Zorita helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Valhalla Time booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd match minute, Valhalla Time was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Shantala to maneuver through the defense. Waldir Gaúcho was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Daniel Zorita. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Valhalla Time throughout the match.
