The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Agostinho Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Sebastian Villa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Leonard Chirculescu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. Honduras's attentive Christian Sancho managed to snatch the ball when Agostinho Moura made a throw-in in the 27th minute of the game. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the match, Paralia Athens's Leonard Chirculescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lautaro Navarro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The throw-in from Agostinho Moura in the 57th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Valentín Carvallo. 58 minutes into the game, Teodor Romeo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Moises Tafalla quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.
