Anders Larsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anders Larsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Club Atletico Fenix getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Cecilio Seber hit a great ball. Felix Montes made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Club Atletico Fenix's Anders Larsson managed to reach the ball for a save. Anders Larsson was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Club Atletico Fenix's Anders Larsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 53rd minute of play. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Anders Larsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Club Atletico Fenix getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Fabian Arenaza hit a great ball. Fabian Arenaza kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Fenix's goalkeeper Anders Larsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anders Larsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Aldo Otoniel charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aldo Otoniel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Club Atletico Fenix fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
