Júlio César was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, LeBron Naldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and LeBron Naldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when AD Oliveirense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Fraga didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from LeBron Naldo in the 28th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, AD Oliveirense's Nicolae Pașcalău got a free kick in the 29th minute. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio César having to interfere. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the game, Dave Nash recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Dave Nash showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Júlio César successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 58th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 60 minutes, LeBron Naldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AD Oliveirense's supporters crossed their fingers, but LeBron Naldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Júlio César narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 65 minutes of play, AD Oliveirense's Alfréd Fenyvessy made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! AD Oliveirense made a substitution. Marco Espírito Santo replaced LeBron Naldo. 70 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Celedonio Berenguer came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Júlio César, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, AD Oliveirense's Marco Espírito Santo got a free kick in the 81st minute. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the game, Marco Espírito Santo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Espírito Santo in the 92nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Celedonio Berenguer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AD Oliveirense fully deserved thier win.
