An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Miralles in the 10th minute of play forced Sporting Club Victoria's goalkeeper Felipe Galindo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Abascal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. But to his dismay, Isidoro Sarmiento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Galindo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panama's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abraham Alguacil in the 53rd minute. The corner ended in Abraham Alguacil almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting Club Victoria's Felipe Galindo did a great save. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Abascal in the 70th minute of play. Felipe Galindo was a little too slow when Isidoro Sarmiento got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 2-4. In the 74th minute, Panama's Abraham Alguacil dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. Felipe Galindo was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Isidoro Sarmiento capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Isidoro Sarmiento really showed his touch with that goal: 2-6. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Dylan Sarmiento hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Abraham Alguacil could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Felipe Galindo however easily saved by the left post.
