But to his dismay, Bumin Mete quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Zorita during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Domingo Bide made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 88th minute of play forced NYC United's goalkeeper Domingo Bide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. NYC United's Rigoberto Ceandro got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. NYC United had won after a very even match.
