Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ralph Roeles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ralph Roeles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Ralph Roeles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. Ralph Roeles was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Emiliano Caiola got free with Julio Vera in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jan de Vlieger to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Daniel Zorita fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ralph Roeles, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ralph Roeles came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. When Jan de Vlieger came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Julias Rascals Apeldoorn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan de Vlieger couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play forced Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goalkeeper Ralph Roeles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Julias Rascals Apeldoorn booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ralph Roeles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A very good chance. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Ralph Roeles despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Norbert Skrzypek got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralph Roeles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. With a little luck, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Ralph Roeles got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Ralph Roeles made a huge save. A collision led to Julias Rascals Apeldoorn getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Emiliano Caiola hit a great ball. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ralph Roeles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head.
