Normando Vilas Boas hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Konrad Tøndergaard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Durval Ruas's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Durval Ruas helped the player get up and apologised. SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA's Konrad Tøndergaard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of play. In the 95thth minute of the game Oswaldo Salmanton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 98th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Konrad Tøndergaard quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ecuador played a much better game than SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA and deserved their victory. The SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
