Despite this Güralp Uğurtan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Sotos Pagitis fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kolopetinitsa's protests and gave Sotos Pagitis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kolopetinitsa getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Sotos Pagitis hit a great ball. Güralp Uğurtan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The throw-in from Camilo Gaos in the 45th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Kolopetinitsa's Christodoulos Kolevas. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

With a little luck, Kolopetinitsa's Güralp Uğurtan got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camilo Gaos got a throw-in 92 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Tomas Illescas. Joshua Secada came free in the 94th minute and tried to tip the ball over Güralp Uğurtan, but to the joy of Kolopetinitsa's supporters the ball went over. Venezuela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
