To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flávio Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute Rigoberto Piearres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Braga having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Renato Braga made a huge save. In the 92nd minute, Luis Andino fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Renato Braga quite easily take care of the ball. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Black fox.
