In the 22nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clodoveo Fliz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Söderström having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sundets Pärla FC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dan Söderström came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivar Kielberg in the 35th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dan Söderström. Sundets Pärla FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Ivar Kielberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aureliano Vigil kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The Sundets Pärla FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Söderström having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of play forced Sundets Pärla FC's goalkeeper Dan Söderström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 76th minute, Ivar Kielberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Sundets Pärla FC's Dan Söderström got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Dan Söderström made a huge save. 85 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dan Söderström. Sundets Pärla FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sundets Pärla FC's goalkeeper Dan Söderström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dan Söderström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clodoveo Fliz's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clodoveo Fliz helped the player get up and apologised. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Finman in the 96th minute of play. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
