Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lobo Guará's Daniel Anaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 12th minute of play. With his leg Dante Lacasa managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Lobo Guará's Ezequiel Pereira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Facundo Cadaval managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Facundo Cadaval was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Anaya breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Ezequiel Pereira tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nando Barbosa during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 29 played minutes Lobo Guará got a freekick which was hit by Nando Barbosa. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Daniel Anaya, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ezequiel Pereira struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lobo Guará. In the 44th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Anaya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Macos Graciani kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Lobo Guará defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Anaya. The Lobo Guará fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Anaya should have stopped the shot. Lobo Guará's Willian Caca-Rato was substituted for Berker Başhekim. In the 59th minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daniel Anaya was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 62nd minute of play forced Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Daniel Anaya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ciro de Moraes went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. In the 72nd minute of the match, Alberto Tafalla tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Daniel Anaya saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciro de Moraes in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Daniel Anaya made a huge save. 89 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro de Moraes came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Daniel Anaya had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. The corner ended in Kokki Mon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa did a great save. Ciro de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
