After 12 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cătălin Agulescu got free with Dante Lacasa in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Călin Prunaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 15th minute of play. Macos Graciani hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristi Maniu. Călin Prunaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristi Maniu kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Călin Prunaru made a huge save. In the 88th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. FC MCM's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Mexico's Luca Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Călin Prunaru despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After having played for 89 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
