The ball had pretty good speed, but Joaquin Gayoso firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 34 minutes, Francisco Seco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the Vikings of Dania players grew even worse after the yellow card. Henning Føltved might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henning Føltved ran back to his position shaking his head. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donald Lockby having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mario-Nicasio Zanabria made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Korneliusz Pozorski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Mario-Nicasio Zanabria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Vikings of Dania's zone, Maximiliano Escribano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donald Lockby came out of the goal and Maximiliano Escribano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Korneliusz Pozorski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Gayoso having to make a save. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario-Nicasio Zanabria, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute Mario-Nicasio Zanabria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donald Lockby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 79th minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Korneliusz Pozorski in the 86th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donald Lockby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vikings of Dania's Mario-Nicasio Zanabria got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 95 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Gisbert. In the 96th minute Korneliusz Pozorski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uruguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
