Doğan Baykut's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doğan Baykut helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th match minute, Bayburtspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doğan Baykut to maneuver through the defense. After 28 minutes, Tomas Illescas made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Tolga Kulan made in the 42nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. Patricio Costa took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ayberk Tanaltan. Ayberk Tanaltan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. 47 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Metin Özkurt. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

In the 52nd minute, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ayberk Tanaltan. Ayberk Tanaltan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ayberk Tanaltan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 57th minute. Ayberk Tanaltan was a little too slow when Tomas Illescas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 0-7. In the 65th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the game, Tahsin Aksun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bayburtspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Tahsin Aksun hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match.
