Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. The supporters of Areco FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Urtats saved Areco FC from getting behind. After 12 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. Zeledon Sol struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Areco FC. Gabriel Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play forced Areco FC's goalkeeper Gabriel Urtats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Agustín Saelices took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Urtats. Gabriel Urtats dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Gabriel Urtats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeledon Sol was the one to do the kick off. Luis Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aquiles Pirro's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aquiles Pirro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th match minute, Areco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Barros to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Gines hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Areco FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 67th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Urtats having to interfere. Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Areco FC from getting a goal against them. The Areco FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gabriel Urtats should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute, Venancio Sendoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Urtats saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Areco FC.
