If Gabriele Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Gabriele Batistuta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabriele Batistuta's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Camilo Salvidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Mariano Lacasa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor. Camilo Salvidor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd minute, Menchu FC's Gabriele Batistuta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Gabriele Batistuta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. At last the ball reached Uriel Gorri at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Chile. 2-1. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Felix Garrido made in the 34th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Menchu FC's Armando Roland. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 39th minute of play forced Menchu FC's goalkeeper Camilo Salvidor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriele Batistuta might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Pliego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriele Batistuta ran back to his position shaking his head. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Basarab Jupân hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Camilo Salvidor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Menchu FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lucas Martínez Quarta in the 48th minute. After taking down the ball on Menchu FC's corner Roberto Carlo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thiago Pliego quite easily take care of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. A nice corner shot did that Armando Roland got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thiago Pliego quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 59 minutes into the match, Menchu FC's goalkeeper Camilo Salvidor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. 61 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Camilo Salvidor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Menchu FC's goalkeeper Camilo Salvidor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Caetano Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Menchu FC made a substitution. Arturo Roderigo replaced Peter Söderqwist. Caetano Linhares hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. The supporters of Chile booed when Menchu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Cordaryal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Cordaryal got a throw-in 79 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Gabriele Batistuta. Pedro Indiano made in the 81st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Guillermo Fontirroig however managed to control. Orlando Casaus succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 86th playminute. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Rocendo in the 93rd minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
