After 8 minutes FC Old Dogs United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zhao Le Sen who took care of the corner kick. FC Lugano's Jack Saunders was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nikolay Ikonomov in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cui Cheng Liang kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. La Para made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertil Jonsson in the 10th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Tinko Lachev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Old Dogs United's Nikolay Ikonomov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save FC Old Dogs United from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute Bertil Jonsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but La Para saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jack Saunders in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nikolay Ikonomov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Bertil Jonsson made the kick off in the second half. If Violet Skachkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Lugano made a substitution. Klas Tingelholm replaced Jakub Waselenczuk. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Lara in the 68th minute of play forced FC Old Dogs United's goalkeeper Nikolay Ikonomov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Lugano's Zhao Le Sen got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Tinko Lachev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. La Para tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

FC Old Dogs United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
