Jeffrey Taverniers charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeffrey Taverniers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cláudio Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. Géza Vlaszák made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Severino Jatsu sent off a good shot on target. Cláudio Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 邵克荣 in the 74th minute of play. Géza Vlaszák was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Manuel Marchidan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
