A hard shot 10 in the game by Abraham Laing from a close distance when the talented Marcos Buffon managed to make a qualified save. AVAÍ F.C.'s players were relieved. The audience was convinced that Abraham Laing's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Buffon was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. If Teodoro Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Teodoro Magalhães fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AVAÍ F.C.'s protests and gave Teodoro Magalhães a yellow card for diving instead. If Dagan Eicke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 21 minutes into the game, Wilton Abraão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AVAÍ F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Amputees FC the free kick. Wilton Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Luiz Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in AVAÍ F.C.'s zone, Marcus Roach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Buffon came out of the goal and Marcus Roach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24thth minute of the game Luizão Dantas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Amputees FC's Neville Peach was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dagan Eicke in the 26th minute. If Carleton Howie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Roach, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Dagan Eicke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dagan Eicke got free with Marcos Buffon in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abraham Laing to make the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Abraham Laing who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AVAÍ F.C.'s Marcos Buffon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Neville Peach didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Augusto Penha went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Luizão Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. Mateus Alves replaced Wilton Abraão. AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. André Luiz Pinheiro replaced Teodoro Magalhães. A collision led to Amputees FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Art Kidman hit a great ball. Dagan Eicke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Buffon having to interfere. In the 71st minute Dagan Eicke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagan Eicke in the 78th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Abraham Laing had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Buffon. AVAÍ F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abraham Laing was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Virgílio Passos fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AVAÍ F.C.'s protests and gave Virgílio Passos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AVAÍ F.C. getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Virgílio Passos hit a great ball. Ed Royans's late challenge caught a AVAÍ F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ed Royans helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Amputees FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AVAÍ F.C.:s goal. Luiz Pombal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Neville Peach came out and tried to block the shot, but Luiz Pombal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 94th minute. In the 97th minute, Rubens Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

When the final whistle went the supporters of AVAÍ F.C. were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Amputees FC side.
